Our new broderie anglaise collection is here! It is traditional European embroidery with eyelets, that was very popular in Victorian Britain. Airy whitework (white embroidery on white) made on certified organic cotton inspired the whole set of romantic and elegant dresses. This shirt dress with creamy white underlayer is one of them. The base is a long simple sleeveless maxi-dress with round neck cut made of the softest cotton. It is semi transparent and can be a perfect base layer for our asymmetric dresses, that are short in front and long in the back - turning them into stunning layered gowns. Second layer is a gorgeous 3\4 sleeved broderie anglaise shirt dress with gently ruffled cuffs and collar decoration. You can wear second layer separately as cardigan, or put together this simply gorgeous ensemble for ultimately feminine French countryside look. We are picturing morning coffee in Provence with a lavender field view! Dress comes in creamy white, latte beige and rusty red colors.

Meanwhile thin organic cotton white lining makes it non transparent. Classy silhouette with buttons in front is so easy to wear! It doesn’t crinkle and keeps the shape without any effort. Why did we start working with Organic Cotton? Generally, the Cotton industry is very harmful towards the environment and the people who are involved in it. Organic certification was created to improve this. Organic production systems reduce the use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. It is also very beneficial for the local communities working on the fields, as their labour conditions are improved and wages are raised up to certain standards. Hence, the price of the fabric is higher than the overall market price of cotton, but this money is invested into the future of our planet and into the happiness of the villagers, so that they can live their simple rural life in dignity.

All Chintamani Items are made in small home factories in India and Indonesia. We care about every piece quality and intention to make some special and filled with conscience and vibe of authenticity.

Wash all-natural fabrics by hand or on a very gentle cold cycle, using ecological laundry products.
Please keep in mind that heat makes natural fabrics shrink a bit and that all fabrics get much softer after washing.
